Yes SCWCD is lot more easier that SCJP.
If you know core things of Servlets and JSP with out any dump you can clear 60% of questions.
And you must know the exam is tricky and tries to confuses you..for example how to add another jsp in a jsp..
be aware of them...
Second part is Design Patterns..there is much speculation that DP are complex and tough..which is completely wrong..if you are in industry..you are in a project..then you will rock..how?
Just learn basics of DP and now search your already developed projects for DP..you will find plenty..as they are proven methodologies everyone prefer to use them for ex:Service Locator..if you use EJB you can find out SL..similarly..Bussines Delegate..just read them and identify them..this way you will really understand their importance and remember for life long...
Enterprise Project structure..there is nothing to worry in this...just open up one of your project and see its structure and compare with any book of SCWCD ..you will be surprised..if you read hundred timed where a tld file can be located you may need to recollect..rather if you see in your project with your own eyes..no way to forget..

Keep discucssing on all Java/J2EE team mates and this is the best and easiest way to get the knowledge..you may feel that EJB is difficult but on the same floor you may have one of your friend who is master of EJB..keep your Radar always on..who is best at what..gather gather...and the most imp thing..after you gained some info...cross verify immediatly..by this you can freez the data in your brain cells..
Last step is Dumps...all know that we will get most of the questions from dump...then why do we need the above said procedure..?
I will answer this in two angles..
One.. Assume that Oracle ( previously Sun) came to know that SCJP/SCWCD became a joke and any one who has some memory power and 7k bucks can crack and fool them...will they sit idle..they silently change the questions DB..and all knows that Oracle is master at tracking..even not today or tomorrow some day this gonna happen..
Two..You are writing the exam to rock in Java/J2EE field, isn't it? You know I dunno there were Dumps for SCJP 1.5 and prepared very well for the exam ..read the Kathy Seira multiple times and given n number of mock tests ..all daily max 1 hour..a day before exam I came to know the dumps..and I read them too in safe side...BOOOM..90% came from the dump ...I cleared with 90+..but you know what.. I got very very very excellent grip on Core Java and I corrected one of java guru in prev comp and got immediate recognition..thats it..folks..Knowledge will never go into vain...
So dont read for only the exam purpose..think that this is the time you can get some Java gyan.
For exam .memorizing dumps are enough unless the change I said above happen..

As many people think that SCJP 1.5 is a tougher one...yes it is.
You can get Certification for your boss and most importantly Knowledge with Confidence as well for you and your career.

on next day for a silly java collection issue you can easily and shamelessly ask your colleague who is not yet cleared the prestigious SCJP which you cleared with record score just one day before.
If you want to stand solid in this heavy turbulent competition you must be concrete on basics and you can get well easily with this exam..but your attitude and focus towards it should be different.
Fix your brain as you donno anything in Java though you teach Java classes to freshers in your company and prepare according to below given and well proved strategy of mine.
My strategy for preapring exam:
1. Brush up your java basics with any introductory book like Complete Ref. Thinking in Java etc.
2.Now read very carefully SCJP book by Kathy Seira and answer honestly all end of chapter questions
3.Once you complete the book just with some borrowed patience review the complete book again.
4.If your patience lasts..good..now read the same author book Head First Java..you can skim thru it now with brisk speed.
5.Now attempt the Mock test given at the end of the SCJP1.5 book. You must get minimum of 60-70%. Thats enuf and tells you that you are improving.
